love is in the air :: kayla & josh :: a JetCenter & Red Rocks esession

There is a mystery and romance about airplanes that warms my heart and ignites a curiosity factor of about 99. As if every airplane in every airport is all mist and black and white and Casablanca-esque. I think it’s the stories, really. Where the crafts are going, who’s on board, who they are going to see, what adventure and excitement and happiness they are in for. Are they going to set off into the sunset to a far off destination, literally? This intrigue may also be closely related to my fascination with people and ability to people watch for hours on end, like the one time I sat with a friend on the 16th street mall for over 6 hours doing nothing but staring…but I digress.

Kayla and Josh’s first [arguably, second] date was at an airport.  The Denver Jet Center to be exact. And as photographer fate would have it, that is where I was oh-so-excited to meet this adorable couple for the first half of their engagement shoot on a perfectly sunny and warm April Thursday.  After a very safety conscious shoot amongst propellers and take offs, we flew [down the highway in our cars] to Red Rocks to shoot into the sunset.
